First post to posterous...and to posterity?
Well, probably not.
Just installed our new webcam. Software has improved a bit since the last time I owned one years ago, before it fell victim to the cat.
Is there anybody out there?

Good Golly Miss Molly. He has written something…
A newish year – a new post. Followers of this blog must be ecstatic, not that there are any, at least not to my knowledge. As usual I don’t have anything to say so you might as well stop reading now. Yes, now.
No? Still with me, eh? Well, it’s your funeral. Anyways, I’m using a new font again, contradicting earlier posts I bet. I do have a vague recollection of having written something about that earlier but I’m too lazy to check.
So what is going on? Well, in Ikariam; we, that is Red Army, are still warring against the evil empire that is Goo*. I’ve been using air raids and rotating waves techniques to great effect. I and my wife also managed to get our accounts banned on the US server but now I’m back with a smaller account after a month on, what one might call, Garden Leave – a popular term for booted managers in football, which brings us to what some call “the real world”.
FIFA World Cup is coming up, opening games are within a week. This time South Africa hosts the festivities which, come to think of it, mean that I haven’t got a clue at what time of day/night the games will be played . I have got to look that up.
Favourites to win are the usual bunch; Brazil (no way), Argentina (maybe, but with Don Diego Maradona as coach anything is feasible), Italy (not again, surely? They’ve hardly got anyone who can who can kick a ball), Germany (Lady Luck is a powerful ally as they’ve shown numerous times before.), England (well, at least if you’re English. But I do hope they pull it of) and Spain (reigning holders).
Spain will of course win, now that they’ve stopped disappointing everyone as was their tradition up until the victory of 2006. No other squad even come close in skill and depth.
Personally I’m still looking for a job, living on lentils and hope alone.
What is new though is that yesterday I got talked into writing for Meadow Music, a blog about new and upcoming Swedish music. Something I know diddly squat about ( I barely recognise music when I hear it( probably because much of it nowadays – isn’t, in my humble opinion)), but hey, who knows – maybe someone will get a kick out of it. Having said that; do check it out, there are other writers who actually do know what they are talking about.
Lastly I would just like to add that my hope for the future is a unified, borderless world with David Mitchell as its’ leader.

Old English and me
I am convinced that this is a font that is under-represented on the world wide web so therefore I will use it extensively from now on. That is not the only reason of course since by that logic there are tons of other fonts I could have used instead that are even less used. I also like it. A lot. The fact that it is somewhat difficult to read makes me appreciate it more as it makes it easier to get away with misspellings and bad grammar. This because the average reader is too lazy to concentrate hard enough to really decipher every word and letter and instead just scans the text. Old English it is called and it really takes be back to my youth. Not that i am that old nor am I English for that matter, but because of it reminds me of movies, computer games and of books first encountered in my youth. Such as Ivanhoe or even any Errol Flynn movie, Defender of the Crown, a great game of yesteryears, or classics from the Niloe Library such as Robin Hood by Howard Pyle if memory serves.
Having said that this post fills no other function than to add more nonsense, ramblings and insignificancies in my preferred font.
Tomorrow is New Years Eve by the way, not only a new year but a new decade to boot. To be celebrated “low key” so to speak. Gone are the years of over indulging oneself with spirits, fireworks et cetera. To be perfectly honest I am not so sure those years are “gone” but rather a case of “never having arrived”. Sure I have used alcohol, and too much of it, at a New years in the past but not in combination with fireworks, something that has never really interested me, nor in combination with et cetera, whatever that might be.
Come to think of it I’m not so sure “celebrating” is very accurate to how I see that particular holiday. Probably more in the lines of saying Good Riddance to the previous year instead of actually welcoming the new year in a celebratory fashion.
Anyway, the “low-key” refers to visiting friends, having some food (hopefully), maybe a cookie or two and playing some board games.
Trying out Windows Live Writer
Apparently Windows messenger isn’t just a messenger anymore but part of the “Live” experience. Looks to be lots of completely useless social networking bits and bobs all bundled together in some sort of Facebook/ messenger/ e-mail hybrid. Oh how I hate it!!
Had to do the upgrade though in order to access the e-mail account I use for crap. And as part of the upgrade this Live Writer thingy was included and hence me trying it out. Right now. This is what I’m doing with this short text.
Done.
